Get ready to stay in one of the most historic airport hotels around (after it’s built, that is). The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey recently approved the construction of a hotel at JFK International Airport that will turn the TWA Flight Center (a registered historic landmark) into a 500-plus room hotel. Construction on the $265 million project is slated to begin in early 2016, and the hotel should open its doors to guests near the end of 2018.
Can’t wait that long? Then head to any of these renowned airport hotels, which are all but guaranteed to transform the airport waiting game into a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

A 24-hour fitness center, on-site spa, and award-winning buffet fulfill the promise of relaxation.
2. The Custom Hotel, Los Angeles

The hotel is located about one mile from LAX’s main terminal, but guests can take advantage of free shuttle service.
