Featured Blogger: Mahika at Wanderlustric

This week I’ve got the fabulous Mahika from Wanderlustric on the blog! Please check her out!

My name is Mahika and for a little under a year I have been dedicating hours a week to my ultimate passion, my blog, Wanderlustric. What started of as a hobby has grown into my passion and hopefully my career!

1. First of all, what are your website and social media links?

My website is www.wanderlustric.com , my social media links are :

Instagram – @wanderlustricc

https://www.instagram.com/wanderlustricc/

Twitter – @wanderlustric

https://twitter.com/wanderlustric

Facebook – Wanderlustric

https://www.facebook.com/wanderlustric/?ref=hl

All of the above are my main ones but honestly, I’m pretty much on everything!

2. How did you come up with your website name?

I wanted it to be something unique, but also something meaningful that a lot of people would sort of understand. So I began to play around with the term ‘wanderlust’ which is a word that has always fascinated me, even before it became ‘mainstream’. Wanderlustric to me is the feeling of being overwhelmed and consumed by wanderlust, to be devoured by it.

3. What more can you tell us about your blog? What are your goals or intentions for it?

My main goals  and intention will always be to inspire people to travel, to see the world and experience and learn things for themselves, not just read about them online. I’ve been branching out into the niche of ‘travelling young’  which has been a major goal of mine, to inspire people to not wait for a  certain point in their life to travel,  to just begin.

4. Can you provide us with a Throw Back Thursday picture of one of your favorite travel memories with an explanation?

This is a picture that my sister took of me when we were in England. We had taken a bus around the coast to explore more of the country and got off at the wrong stop and were practically stranded in the middle of the forest. We were so lost and could do nothing but just explore and sit and wait for another bus to come by ( which took a a very long time by the way), this has and will always be one of my favorite memories!

5. Which are your favorite and least favorite cities you’ve traveled to? Why?

My favourite city will always be my home town, New Delhi but I’ve loved every single city I’ve been to! As for my least favourite, I don’t think I could ever have one, each city has it’s own charm and splendour!

6. What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? Where?

Once in Thailand, before I was a vegetarian, I had these kebabs full of pig intestines and it was the weirdest and by far the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten.

7. Who are your travel idols?

I have a couple of travel idols but my main ones would be Sjana Elise, Brooke Saward, Sabina Trojanova and of course,Jessica Stein! I’ve written a post on it here – http://www.wanderlustric.com/2015/08/3-bloggers-who-changed-my-life.html

8. What’s your best travel tip?

Umm, there would just be too many! Though I think my number one travel tip would be to have  a positive attitude and a smile forever on your face! 🙂

9. Which is your favorite post you’ve written? Please provide a link.

My favorite post is this one – http://www.wanderlustric.com/2015/07/is-there-cure-for-wanderlust.html It’s all about questioning whether there is a cure for wanderlust and whether I want one. It’s always going to be my favorite as it is so out of my comfort zone and a bit personal.

10. What advice would you give to someone new to travel blogging?

Just persevere! I know that blogging at first just seems absolutely impossible and getting a steady flow of readers seems unimaginable but work hard, work consistently and I promise you that you will get there!
