The amazing Sydney Harbor Bridge has been the touristic attraction ever since 1932. It has been visited by many celebrities that dared to go bridge climbing. These include Oprah, Mat Damon, Katy Perry, Emma Thompson and many more. It is also a place where many romantic dates are happening throughout the year. It is famous for being the gathering place of romantic couples. However, there are other things that you can do around Sydney for your date.
Avoid the busy Manly beach and walk a bit longer to the Collins Flat Beach which is just near. It absolutely justifies its name. If you have ever heard about the expression ‘long walks on the beach’, this is the place to do it. The view of the harbor is amazing, the yellow sand on this flat beach is inviting you to take your shoes off and walk barefoot, hand in hand. Another gem near Manly is the Reef Beach.
This is the perfect destination, if you decide to take a stroll down the Manly Scenic Walkway. Enjoy the walk, bring a nice bottle and settle on this tucked away paradise. Shark Beach is in Nielsen Bay and it is a part of the Sydney Harbor National Park. The things that make it special is the shade that is there in abundance and the shark protective nets. Therefore, you can enjoy a day of swimming and sunbathing without hitting the crowds.
All those secluded beaches make perfect picnic opportunities. Besides those, the glorious gardens of Sydney can make awesome picnic places. Centennial Park is perfect for those that want to explore the Victorian Era Sydney.
Throwing your blanket just anywhere and having a picnic is absolutely possible. However, you can go horse riding and even exploring the garden labyrinth, which can be perfectly romantic. Another option is the Chinese Garden of Friendship which is near the Darling Harbor. You can walk there for hours and have some refreshments besides the many waterfalls, ponds and exotic plants. However, there is a perfect teahouse there, as well and you may want to spend your time there.
If the both of you enjoy a little bit of adrenaline in your date, there are a couple of awesome opportunities for you as well. Balloon ride is the perfect and unique way to see Sydney. The ride starts before dawn, so that the two of you are up in the skies while the sun rises. After this romantic ride, you will enjoy the champagne breakfast upon landing.
The Old Sydney Heritage
If the Centennial Park makes you think about the history and the romantic old times, you can experience the authentic Victorian villa accommodation in the Randwick area. Staying there overnight is an unforgettable experience. Besides that, you can spend a day or have a romantic dinner at Queen Victoria Building that takes up the entire block of the George Street.
Its colossal architecture and romantic scenery will make your day unforgettable. For a little gloomier adventure for those couples that enjoy spooky parts of history, there are the Hyde Park Barracks. This used to be a place where the convicts were accommodated. Today, you can lie in their hammocks and dwell on the dark parts of the history. If you do it together, it can spark all sorts of conversations.
From the cheerful horse riding, beach exploring, all the way to the magnificent and historical sights, Sydney is swelling with romance and lovely spots for a couple to experience together.
