On my recent Funjet Fam trip to Puerto Vallarta one of the most interesting properties we inspected was the Grand Palladium and the Royal Suites by Palladium (one property, two resorts). The Royal Suites is a boutique adult-only resort and the Grand Palladium is a larger family resort. Both properties are very different from each other, with the Royal Suites being much quieter and more relaxing.
When we rolled up I was confused about which resort we were at. We were at the Royal Suites lobby, which is pretty small. They brought us some yummy blended mojito drink – unfortunately I can’t remember what they called it now, but it was a perfectly refreshing summer drink. That’s another nice thing about these site inspections – they usually go all out and give us little gifts and drinks upon arrival.
While I personally would stay at the Royal Suites because of the lack of children, I would also recommend the Grand Palladium. It does have one adult-only pool which really helps, and it also has the majority of the restaurants that both resorts have access to. The coolest feature is that it has an actual zoo, or I suppose you could call them animal sanctuaries. Monkeys, ostriches, and more – it’s the perfect feature for kids besides the small water park by the main pool. I also liked how all the walkways were covered and how jungle-y it was. The biggest problem is that it’s quite hilly and tough to walk around, so if you have knee problems I would steer clear of these resorts (there aren’t any elevators at either resort a ground floor isn’t guaranteed). Both resorts have super comfy beds (memory foam) in every room so that’s definitely a plus!
