Santiago de Compostela!!!

Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain

I am FINALLY all moved in to my apartment and loving the city 🙂 It’s actually a lot like Milwaukee and everything I could possibly need is within just a few blocks, and the psychology building is just a 10-15 minute walk from my doorstep (which is impossible to open as the key never works!).

My cute little room!

Today I finally had a chance to walk around the cathedral and explore my beautiful new city. Not only did I get a good look at the cathedral, but I got to go inside, too! It is honestly so beautiful and intricate on the inside that only pictures can explain, not words. I’m not religious, but you definitely can feel how sacred and special the cathedral is. We’re going to try going to a mass on Sunday there! To the photos…

A lunch of churros and chocolate before heading to the cathedral 🙂
It’s tradition for lovers to write on a padlock and lock it onto the Cathedral’s front gate entrance.
I finally made it! See me? 🙂

Entrance to view the tomb of St. James. The seashell is a symbol of his – look up on Google why!
Tomb of Saint James!
Famous pillar of St. James inside cathedral – pilgrims who complete the Camino de Santiago (journey of St. James) come here as their final destination just to touch the pillar.
It’s kind of hard to see, but those deep, dark indents are where pilgrims have placed their hands for centuries!
